The Goblin Hunters left the Village of Signpost on the 30th of the Month of Aout and returned through the forest to the ruined monastery with the intention of putting a little more smackdown on the goblins.  Unbeknownst to them, the goblins attacked and overran Signpost after they left that town -- but that’s the tale of another day.

They encountered no enemies in the forest.  The players decided to enter through the gaping hole in the crumbling back wall which they had entered before.  The goblins were waiting for them, however, and greeted the approaching humans with a shower of arrows.  After a brief but bloody fight, the goblins lay dead at the adventurer’s feet.  The goblin hunters collected their goblin ears (in order to recieve their reward back in signpost) and proceeded down the stairs and into the first level of the dungeon.  Here they travelled through the ancient crypt (which they had cleared of undead guardian skeletons on a previous visit).  They moved through a secret passage to the Goblin part of the dungeon.

Six goblins were defeated at a goblin guardpost and the group trooped down the stairs to level 2 of the dungeon.

The group selected a diagonal hallway and began to go down it.  Wide hallways branched off to the right; these led to a large underground amphitheatre.  The party began to explore the amphitheatre area.  Philgo saw some heaps on the ground that looked like bodies in the center of the amphitheatre and was going to investigate when suddenly arrows began flying out of the darkness at them.  Whisper the halfling and the dwarf Ott Ahht were hit.  Mace Blackstar plunged forward while Philgo jumped behind a pillar (risking his life does not seem to be one of his philosophies).  Whisper was hit again and went down.  Cullen de Filch began to try to stabilize Whisper the hobbit.

Mace Blackstar, Ott Ahhht and Malus began hacking through the goblins.  Wilbered the Silent assisted Cullen in reviving the dying hobbit and saved him with a cure light wounds spell.  The remaining goblins tried to flee and were cut down.
Philgo investigated the bodies in the amphitheatre and discovered that they were human corpses stuck with arrows.  The rest of the party removed the ears from the dead goblins as trophies and found a few silverpieces in their pockets.  Ottt Ahhhhht gathered a bow and a quiver of arrows from the dead goblins as well.

The party proceeded down the hall that the goblins had attempted to flee down and discovered two doors -- one ahead and one to the left.  Whisper listened at the door to the left and heard voices.  Asked to identify the language that these people were speaking, the Hobbit replied that he thought it sounded a lot like Klingon.

After a pause, the party opened the door and saw six goblins and a hobgoblin sitting around a table rolling dice.  Trygvie cast his sleep spell and knocked them all out -- the rest of the party gleefully slit their throats and plundered the bodies.  They found a mess of silver, some gold, some copper coins and dice that the goblins had been gambling with.

The group left through a door opposite of the one they came in and found themselves in a hallway that they had been in before.  Hallways branched off to the left (towards the goblin dining hall and other previously explored areas), to the right (unexplored) and dead ahead.  The party chose to go straight.  A door led them to a room with two bodies -- one in leather, one in battered platemail.  They entered and began to look around when Malus tripped over something.  He looked down to see what it was but could see nothing.  Feeling with his fingers, he found a third corpse, apparently invisible.  Searching the body by touch, Malus turned up a pouch that contained a potion bottle and a silver dagger while the rest of his companions made lewd jokes about Malus feeling up a stiff on the floor.  On a hunch, Trygvie suggested they search for a secret door and almost immeadiately found one.

The group drew their weapons and opened the door.  A filthy hobgoblin, without weapons or armor, hissed and came at them.  With Malus taking minor wounds from the hobgoblin’s teeth and claws, they managed to cut the strange creature down.  As Mace stood over the creature, he noticed that the wounds on it were beginning to close up and heal spontaneously.  Mace hacked the creatures hands off and continued to chop at the corpse while the rest of the group prepared flasks of oil and set the remains on fire.  After searching the rubbish in the room (sticks, rags, bones, etc.), the group left the room and proceeded down the hall.

Around the corner, another door led to an empty room with an unfinished statue of a reptilian looking torso and head.  The lower half of the statue was an unfinished block.  There was considerable rubble and stone chips around the statue but from the dust it was apparent that whomever had been carving the statue had left it unfinished long ago.

The group left the room with the statue and headed down an unexplored tunnel.  One door gave access to a hall that led back to the amphitheatre area.  The hall continued on, leading the party to an unoccupied sitting room with spilled tankards of ale on the table and warm ashes in the fireplace.  Another door led to an empty bunkroom.  The door opposite led to a bunkroom where six goblins were quickly slain by the bloodthirsty goblin hunters.  The party then decided to barricade themselves into the room and spend the night.

The adventure session ended here.
